DATES: June 11th, preliminaries. June 12th, finals.
LOCATION: The Music Center at Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda, MD 20852)
DEADLINE: Application due by May 20, 2019
- Employment and pay governed by CBA with AFM, Local 161-710
- Assuming the performance of all regular services, estimated average yearly compensation of $14,000
- Additional chamber music opportunities may be available as appropriate.

Mozart Concerto: exposition from the first movement of Violin Concerto 3, 4, or 5.
Choice of Concerto: Standard Romantic/20th Century Concerto*
- Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Sibelius, or Tchaikovsky
- 1st Movement only
*Certain exceptions to these suggested concerto choices may be granted but require advance approval. Contact Kyle Schick for approval.
Bach: “Erbarme dich” from St. Matthew’s Passion: beginning to A; pick-up to 4 before B to C.
Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, movement 3: beginning to 69 (24 before A)
Brahms: Symphony No. 1, movement 2: concertmaster solo
Brahms: Symphony No. 2, movement 1: beginning to B
Copland: Appalachian Spring, 2 before 9 to 3 after 10
Dvorak: Symphony No. 8, movement 2: concertmaster solo
Mozart: Symphony No. 39, movement 4: beginning to A
Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheharazade, movement 3: solo before L through 8 after M
Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade, movement 4: the first TWO cadenzas (i.e. skip the third cadenza and end of the piece)
Schumann: Symphony No. 2, movement 2: beginning to m. 54
Strauss: Don Juan, beginning to 13 after C
Note: Repertoire for prelims and finals will be chosen from the above list. Specific selection of repertoire for prelim or final round will be given the day of the audition. (E.g. Strauss, Don Juan may be called in the prelims, finals, or both.)
