Jody Gatwood Education Fund

Jody Gatwood served as concertmaster of the National Philharmonic for 25 years. At the end of National Philharmonic’s 2009-2010 season, Jody announced his retirement from the orchestra. In honor of his outstanding service, Maestro Piotr Gajewski and the National Philharmonic Board of Directors immediately named Jody Concertmaster Emeritus.

To further honor the outstanding commitment of this fine leader and friend, the National Philharmonic created the Jody Gatwood Education Fund. The fund's purpose is to support the National Philharmonic and its educational outreach programming including:

  • All Kids, All Free, All the Time
  • Student concerts, in partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the Music Center at Strathmore, for all second and fifth graders in MCPS
  • Summer String and Choral Institutes
  • Masterclasses and pre-concert Lectures

The National Philharmonic gratefully accepts contributions to the Jody Gatwood Education Fund on an ongoing basis. To contribute to the fund, please click here. Write "Jody Gatwood Education Fund" in the comment section.
